Selkirk Common Riding

10th - 14th June

Selkirk common riding is an equestrian tradition in the Scottish Borders. It is a commemoration of a 1513 battle which has come to be known as The Flodden legend.

The town rises early to follow the band and witness the bussing of the Burgh Flag. The Riding of the Marches lasts four hours ending in Market Place. Celebrations include horse racing and professional games.
