Old Gala house is a beautiful house built in 1583 and is the historical home to the Lairds of Galashiels. The house is set in superbly maintained gardens in the centre of Galashiels and is now a Gallery and Museum which tells the story of the town and the people of Galashiels. The Old Gala House Gallery showcases a variety of visual arts and crafts based on local museum collections. There is also a small gift shop where you can purchase a range of local gifts and crafts. Admission is Free.
