The King’s visit to The Great Tapestry for Scotland, Galashiels

On Thursday 06 July, King Charles III will be visiting The Great Tapestry for Scotland, Galashiels.

The visit will result in a number of road closures in the area which will affect some of our bus services, the following services will be re-routed for a period of time.

Galashiels between 1000-1230

Service 54 will operate from ASDA via Ladhope vale, Bridge Place then normal route will continue from Island Street.

When the service arrives at the St John junction on Scott Street again this will divert via Scott Crescent, Church Street to A7 Braw Lads Brae with bus stops on Paton Street, Bank Street and High Street not being served.

Service X62 will operate from the Transport Interchange via Stirling Street, Stirling Place, Ladhope Vale and Bridge Place and normal route will continue from Island Street omitting bus stops on Bank Street and High Street.

Service X95 Edinburgh bound, will operate from Transport  Interchange via Stirling Street, Stirling Place, Ladhope Vale for High Buckholmside where normal route will resume, omitting bus stops on Bank Street, High Street and Bridge Place.

Selkirk Between 1230-1400

Service 73 will operate via Low Road to Bannerfield, then on return to Galashiels will operate normal route to West Port then via The Valley for A7 Ettrick Terrace to Toll for normal route to Galashiels omitting Market Square, Bleachfield road in both directions.

Service X95 will operate via Back Row, Scotts Place and Bleachfield in both directions omitting Market Square A7 Ettrick Terrace to Toll.

Services 60, 61, 67, 68, 70 and 74 are unaffected.

Delays within these towns is expected and in the event the road closures are lifted earlier than planned we will update our websites.
