Galafoot Bridge Closure.
27th Jul 2026 - 31st Dec 2026
Service Update: Galafoot Bridge Closure.
From 06:00 Monday 10th of August until Thursday 31st December 2026, Galafoot Bridge will be closed to eastbound traffic to allow major deck refurbishment works to take place.
During this period, services 67, 68 travelling towards Tweedbank will operate from Kingsknowe Roundabout via the A7 and B6360. Buses will follow a one-way diversion as far as Abbotsford House before rejoining their normal route from Tweedbank Roundabout onwards.
314 service will divert from Abbotsford road for Tweed road, Winston road to Lowood Bridge , then normal route from Tweedbank roundabout.
To accommodate the additional journey time between Kingsknowe and Tweedbank, minor timetable adjustments will be introduced.
Services 67, 68 and 314 travelling from Tweedbank towards Galashiels will continue to operate as normal and are not affected by these works.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank customers for their patience while these essential improvement works are carried out. -
